Georgia Association of Christian Schools

Welcome

The Georgia Association of Christian Schools seeks to provide support to its member schools in a variety of areas:  spiritually, academically, aesthetically, athletically, and in political and legal affairs.  Our mission is to assist our members in training students to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in all that they do.

Mission

The mission of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools is to promote and support the development of quality Christian education in the state of Georgia.  GACS desires to develop Christian character in students by providing member schools with programs that are conducive to mental, moral, spiritual, aesthetic, and physical development. “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:52

History

The Georgia Association of Christian Schools (GACS) was organized in 1970 with ten (10) charter members for the purpose of coordinating the activities of a conservative group of Christian schools within the state. Over the years, it has provided a means of disseminating needed information, protecting Christian schools from government encroachment, and offering an increasing number of services and programs to its member schools.

GACS was incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia on March 3, 1976, and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. The Association lists a membership of over sixty schools with a total membership of more than 9,000 students in 2008-2009.
